EgoPlay Tasks

Users are presented with a wide range of tasks that mirror real-world activities. Examples include folding clothes, washing dishes, making sushi, playing golf, cleaning surfaces, packing boxes, feeding pets, cutting fruit, shuffling cards, guiding a wheelchair, operating a drill, or playing piano chords. The diversity of tasks ensures that users remain engaged while also progressing through new challenges.

The platform operates with an in-game reward currency called VP (Vader Points). Users earn VP when they successfully complete tasks and their submissions are approved. Every submission is reviewed by a mix of Orn and Proof of Alignment, a proprietary evaluation system that combines innovative AI with human oversight. Depending on review volume, validation may take up to 72 hours.

Submissions may be rejected if they do not meet the requirements, including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect execution (missing steps, wrong action, or no visible before/after state)

  • Video not recorded from a POV/egocentric perspective

  • Missing required liveness gestures (e.g., V-sign when instructed)

  • Poor quality (dark, blurry, out of frame, too short/long)

  • Incomplete performance of the task from start to finish

  • Duplicate, recycled, suspicious, or AI-generated content

  • Safety or content issues (NSFW, violent, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate)

These requirements may evolve over time to ensure data quality, fairness, and economic sustainability. Users attempting to abuse the system through spam, duplication, or repeated violations risk account suspension or permanent bans. In such cases, any accumulated VP may also be reset to zero.

Task Types

EgoPlay features three main categories of tasks, each designed to serve different user experiences and incentive structures:

  1. Regular Singleplayer Tasks

    • Sequential, ongoing challenges available to all users.

    • Comparable to traditional game “levels,” where most players progress through the same set of tasks in the same order.

    • Provides a consistent baseline of engagement for the entire user base.

  2. LiveOps Multiplayer Tasks

    • Real-time, limited-time challenges that multiple users participate in simultaneously.

    • Includes leaderboards, streaks, and timed competitions.

    • Rewards may be distributed based on either performance (scores) or volume (number of tasks completed within the timeframe).

    • Creates a social and competitive element within the platform.

  1. Sponsored Singleplayer Tasks

  • Special missions sponsored by partners, projects, or brands.

  • May include bonus rewards such as partner-native tokens or exclusive in-game benefits.

  • Enables cross-ecosystem collaborations while diversifying the reward structure.

Skill Tree

Not all tasks yield the same VP rewards. VP payouts vary based on task difficulty, demand, and individual performance. A user’s score for each task, determined by Orn, can increase or decrease the VP they receive. This ensures that rewards are not just tied to participation, but also to the quality and consistency of execution.

To maintain fairness, certain higher-value tasks are only available to users who meet a minimum average score or skill threshold. This gating system ensures that complex or high-demand challenges are assigned to those who have demonstrated the ability to complete them effectively.

Every completed task also feeds into the user’s Skill Tree Score, building a profile of strengths, weaknesses, and specializations. Over time, each user develops a unique “character build” within EgoPlay. This works similarly to skill systems in games like RuneScape, where players choose to level up different abilities such as swordfighting, fishing, or mining. Some users may choose to focus on “dexterity” skills like folding clothes or shuffling cards, while others might excel in “precision” tasks like cooking, cutting fruit, or playing piano chords.

The Skill Tree drives progression in several key ways:

  • Specialization – Users can develop reputations in particular categories of tasks, gaining recognition and access to niche opportunities.

  • Selective Task Allocation – Tasks requiring precision or advanced skills are reserved for users who meet specific thresholds, ensuring quality outcomes.

  • Dynamic Rewards – High-demand or specialized tasks may yield larger VP payouts, incentivizing skill development.

  • Progression – As users improve their Skill Tree, they unlock access to higher-tier tasks, better rewards, and new forms of gameplay.

By merging reward differentiation with skill-based progression, EgoPlay balances merit, fairness, and competition. The system ensures that casual users remain engaged through accessible tasks, while dedicated players are motivated to specialize, improve, and climb into higher reward brackets—creating a sustainable and competitive in-game economy.
